A little bit on La Tania

La Tania is in the Courchevel area of Le Trois Vallees, one of the largest ski areas of the Alps.  It resides at 1350m above sea level and was developed for the Albertville Olympics of 1992, which are excitingly due to return for 2010. It can be easily reached by road and is about a 25-minute drive from Moutiers, approximately 2 hours from Geneva airport and 1 hour 20 minutes from Chambery.

The Village centre is traffic free and consists of around 6 apartment blocks, a couple of hotels and numerous chalets spread out through the forest.

The village is served by a 12 person Gondola which links to high-speed quad chair from where you can ski down to either Courchevel or Meribel. There is a series of 2 draglifts that can also take you from the village to the Courchevel side of the mountain.

There are three pistes that wind down through the forest into the village from the top of the gondola - red, blue and green; with the blue benefiting from snow cannons for all season access. La Tania also has a free beginners drag lift which runs throughout the season (Troika).

With its North-East facing slopes the powder here can often remain overlooked for several days, especially the Gazex couloirs off the Col de la Loze, named Gazex 1, 2 and 3, by La Tania legends Nick Atkinson, Mark Jones & Billy Manson. If you would like more off-piste information with regards to guides / lessons please let us know.
